Aggregate

Like agglomerate, the term exists to support the nanomaterial definition. The difference is the strength of the bond: aggregates are fused, agglomerates are loosely held together.

‘aggregate’, for the purposes of the definition of nanomaterial in point (18), means a particle comprising of strongly bound or fused particles;
