CE marking of conformity

The CE marking is the manufacturer's declaration, not a certificate from an authority. For most devices above class I it can only be affixed after a notified body has certified the device, and then the notified body's number appears next to it.

‘CE marking of conformity’ or ‘CE marking’ means a marking by which a manufacturer indicates that a device is in conformity with the applicable requirements set out in this Regulation and other applicable Union harmonisation legislation providing for its affixing;
