Class III certification

It applies to class III device types that are still cleared through 510(k). It comes with the class III summary, which describes the safety and effectiveness problems known for the device type.

Class III certification means a certification that the submitter of the 510(k) has conducted a reasonable search of all known information about the class III device and other similar, legally marketed devices.
