Closed system

Whether a system is closed or open changes the Part 11 controls needed. Open systems need extra measures, such as encryption, to protect record integrity and confidentiality.

(4) Closed system means an environment in which system access is controlled by persons who are responsible for the content of electronic records that are on the system.
