Generalisability

Software, especially machine learning software, can perform well on the data it was tested on and worse in real use. The test data therefore need to represent the intended population, settings and conditions.

Generalisability refers to the ability of a MDSW to extend the intended performance tested on a specified set of data to the broader intended population.
