Interventional clinical performance study

Because the results can affect the subjects' care, the IVDR treats these studies more like clinical investigations, with authorisation and extra requirements. Studies that use only left-over samples are handled differently.

‘interventional clinical performance study’ means a clinical performance study where the test results may influence patient management decisions and/or may be used to guide treatment;
