Local dispersion

This concept is used in the EU MDR classification of devices made of substances (Rule 21). Whether the substance stays local or is systemically absorbed affects the class, so the evidence on absorption needs to be solid.

Local dispersion: The condition by which substances remain in a specific site without being distributed into the body via the blood and/or lymphatic system.
