Small business

This definition belongs to 21 CFR 830, the UDI rule. FDA uses a different, revenue-based small business status for reduced user fees, so the two should not be confused.

Small business means a medical device manufacturer with 500 or fewer employees, or a medical device relabeler or repackager with 100 or fewer employees.
